About the role
As a field-based Respiratory Therapist, you will set up respiratory products for patients in the home setting, including therapeutics, diagnostics, high-tech ventilation, oxygen, and other miscellaneous equipment. This hands-on position requires you to serve as a respiratory caregiver, patient advocate, and positive representative of PromptCare, with responsibilities extending to a 24-hour basis in coordination with the department Manager and on-call duties as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provides patients and family members with timely and accurate information and takes appropriate corrective actions regarding services to ensure complete satisfaction.
- Initiates and develops good working relationships with patients, family members, and referral sources.
- Ensures efficient daily planning for the team, including minimizing travel time by planning routes ahead of time.
- Assists with proper scheduling of setups and follow-up visits according to company policies and standards.
- Works closely with RT Clinical Liaisons in coordinating patient discharges.
- Properly triages problems in the field in accordance with company standards and training policies.
- Ensures accurate and timely documentation of patient concerns and takes appropriate corrective actions.
- Maintains strong knowledge of PromptCare’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensures consistent application.
- Ensures team compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and SOPs.
- Fosters a culture of delivering “white glove” service to patients and family members.
- Submits expense reports for travel at least once monthly and in a timely manner.
- Performs on-call responsibilities as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory School.
- Current Respiratory Care Practitioner state licensure in the state of employment and in good standing.
- Willingness to obtain cross-licensure in other states at the company’s expense.
- Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance in good standing.
- At least 1 year of experience as a working Respiratory Therapist (home care setting experience highly desirable).
- RRT certification required.
- Current CPR-BLS certification required.
- Adequate PC skills to use email and update electronic documentation in a timely manner.

- Frequent verbal communication and attentive listening.

Schedule
Non-Exempt, Full-Time, 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday 9:00 am–5:30 pm with on-call responsibilities.
