Responsibilities
- Uses analytical ability to perform initial patient assessments including physical, functional, social and environmental resource requirements and needs.
- Ensures communication and coordination of services /care among all clinical services.
- Performs initial equipment set-up and patient/family/caregiver education.
- Develops patient specific plans of care based on initial assessments to include problems, goals and interventions.
- Reviews and revises care plans on an ongoing basis and ensure that all patients are followed according to that plan per PHS policy.
- Safeguards all required documentation is completed accurately and within the time frames set forth in PHS policy.
- Participates in care conferences and collaborates with all care team members internally and externally.
- Participates in day to day trouble shooting. Analyzes problems, formsulates solutions, and notifies manager on-call as needed.
- Attends department and staff meetings as necessary.
- Schedule all patient visits per PHS follow-up policy.
Qualifications
- Holds the following license; LRT, BLS
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by The National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- One to two years of pediatric experience as a Respiratory Therapist
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Neonatal & Pediatric Specialist (NPS)
