Respiratory Therapist

About the Role

As a Respiratory Therapist you will act as a control operator of mono‑place chambers, working under the general direction of leadership and in compliance with federal and state laws, DNV, and UHMS guidelines. The role requires expertise in hyperbaric oxygen therapy, strong knowledge of relevant regulations, and the ability to work independently to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant hyperbaric treatment delivery and departmental operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate mono‑place hyperbaric chambers as a control operator.
• Deliver respiratory care procedures to patients in general, acute, critical care, and emergency areas according to departmental policies.
• Perform therapeutic modalities including patient monitoring, medication delivery, ventilation management, expansion therapy, and bronchial hygiene.
• Assist in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency care by providing airway maintenance, cardiac support, and other assistance as needed.
• Conduct diagnostic testing such as arterial blood gases (ABGs), pulmonary function tests (PFTs), electrocardiograms (EKGs), cardiac studies, bronchoscopy, and pulse oximetry.
• Develop care plans based on thorough assessment via protocol criteria or directed physician order.
• Provide patient and family education and teaching.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Education Program (CoARC, JRCRTE, or CAAHEPCRT) by NBRC.
• Basic Life Support – American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support – American Heart Association; current ACLS certification required upon hire or within 6 months of hire (for Kansas locations, within 1 year of hire/transfer).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support – current PALS certification upon hire or within 6 months of hire for specified campuses (St. Anthony North Health Campus, St. Francis Medical Center, St. Mary Corwin, St. Thomas More, Mercy, Longmont, St. Anthony Summit, St. Elizabeth, Bob Wilson, St. Catherine Dodge, St. Catherine Garden City, Penrose).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program – current NRP certification upon hire or within 6 months of hire for specified campuses (St. Anthony North Health Campus, St. Francis Medical Center NICU, St. Mary Corwin, St. Thomas More, Mercy, Longmont, Bob Wilson, St. Catherine Dodge, St. Catherine Garden City, St. Anthony Summit, St. Elizabeth, Penrose).
• Preferred: Associate’s Degree.
• One (1) year of respiratory therapy experience.

The location is convenient for patients in Ogden, Roy, and neighborhoods west of I‑15, and is minutes from Hill Air Force Base, providing easy access to Ogden, Salt Lake City, Antelope Island State Park, and a variety of outdoor recreation opportunities.

Pay

$27.97 – $41.60 per hour
