About the role
Individuals within this job classification are accountable for assessing, implementing, evaluating and documenting respiratory care in accordance with HMC standards and under the direction of the department Manager and Medical Director in order to deliver efficient, effective and quality respiratory care.
Responsibilities
- Absolutely assess, implement, evaluate and document respiratory care in accordance with HMC standards and under the direction of the department Manager and Medical Director.
- Administer oxygen, various treatment modalities, and ventilator management.
- Adhere to and abide by the rules and regulations set forth by the Oklahoma Respiratory Care Practice Act.
- Demonstrate awareness and appropriateness in the care of patients at end of life.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with minimally 20 quarter hours of science (A.S. degree required/ B.S. degree preferred).
- NBRC credential as a RRT or new graduate that obtains RRT NBRC credential within 6 months of graduation and or a newly hired CRT that obtains RRT within 6 months of hire.
- Active Oklahoma Respiratory Care Professional License as outlined by the OK Medical Board.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
- Obtain ACLS within 6 months of hire.
Qualifications
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide respiratory care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit.
