What You'll Do
- Provide comprehensive respiratory care for medically complex rehabilitation patients
- Manage ventilators, airway care, secretion mobilization, and physician-ordered respiratory treatments
- Perform respiratory assessments, arterial blood gas analysis, and pulmonary mechanics
- Participate in patient mobility and interdisciplinary rehabilitation planning
- Auxiliary with bedside bronchoscopies and other advanced respiratory procedures
- Respond as an active member of the Code Team, providing emergency airway management and life support
- Educate patients, families, students, and new staff on respiratory care
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other members of the rehabilitation team to support the best possible patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Associate of Science degree
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Current Connecticut Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
- Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications
- Possess Bachelor's degree in a health-related field preferred
