They function autonomously in high-pressure environments, making critical decisions quickly and accurately.

Routine responsibilities include thorough documentation of treatments and outcomes, participating in clinical rounds, and engaging in ongoing education and support for patients and their families.

About the Respiratory Therapy Department

At Cuyuna Regional Medical Center's Respiratory Therapy Department, we are dedicated to helping patients breathe easier, recover more quickly, and manage chronic lung conditions with exceptional care. Our team provides life-saving support in both critical and routine care environments, including emergency airway management and long-term treatment for conditions like COPD, asthma, and other respiratory disorders.

Our unique approach includes therapist-driven protocols, cardiac monitoring (such as Holters and event monitors), and EEGs. Our specialists are highly trained in ventilator management, advanced airway procedures, oxygen therapy, and pulmonary diagnostics—ensuring timely and accurate interventions to optimize patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat a wide range of respiratory conditions for patients of all ages
• Administer therapies such as oxygen, medications, and ventilatory support
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient care plans
• Function autonomously in high-pressure environments, making critical decisions
• Document treatments and outcomes thoroughly
• Participate in clinical rounds
• Provide ongoing education and support for patients and their families
• Perform emergency airway management and long-term treatment for chronic conditions
• Utilize therapist-driven protocols, cardiac monitoring, and EEGs
• Manage ventilators, advanced airway procedures, oxygen therapy, and pulmonary diagnostics

Qualifications

• Degree in Respiratory Care from an accredited respiratory care program (Associate degree or equivalent as defined by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC))
• Current Respiratory Therapy licensure in Minnesota
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 4 months of hire
• Able to provide a copy of the highest diploma or degree attained

Preferred: RRT credential
