Responsibilities

  • Performs specific respiratory care duties and responsibilities under the supervision of the medical director.
  • Able to adapt to the particular area of duty assignment and perform special duties required by the assignment.
  • Performs all respiratory care procedures in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of cardiopulmonary physiology and other sciences related to respiratory care.
  • Show thorough understanding of the drugs used in respiratory care procedures.
  • Exhibit mature judgment, honesty, integrity, and a high sense of responsibility.
  • Perform work with a high degree of accuracy and particular attention to detail.
  • Use tact and judgment when dealing with physicians, nurses, other hospital employees, patients and their families.
  • Explain various procedures being performed or demonstrated to other employees, patients and their families.

Requirements

  • Licensed with the State of Minnesota as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by The National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • RRT credential within 3 months of hire.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • PALS, NRP certified or within 6 months in the role.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.

Skills

The Respiratory Therapist should possess strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.

Schedule

This is a cross-campus position for both Mpls and St. Paul.
