Respiratory Therapist

About the role

The Sleep Respiratory Therapist role supports the Sleep Clinic and Diagnostic Labs at Dayton Children’s South Campus, working full-time with a 32-hour weekly schedule, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Providing patient education on sleep-related breathing disorders and PAP therapy
• Making sure patients use their PAP machines correctly and checking the settings
• Helping new patients understand what they need to do and making sure they have everything they need
• Supporting sleep lab tests like PAP naps, desensitization MSLTs, and Actigraphy
• Helping patients get ready to go home and make sure they have all the things they need to stay healthy
• Working with other doctors and nurses to help patients and their families

Qualifications

• An Associate’s Degree
• 2-3 years of experience helping kids with breathing problems
• A license to practice respiratory care
• A BLS certification

Preferred qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience working in a sleep lab
• Certifications like SDS or RPSGT

Skills

Strong communication, customer service, and computer skills are essential.
