Coosa Valley Medical Center (CVMC) is a progressive health care organization that believes in quality patient care and values their team members.

Administer more complex respiratory therapy procedures to general and critical care patients under minimal supervision and according to established department policies, procedures, and standards.
Assess patients’ respiratory status, administer prescribed therapies, and monitor patient response to such therapies.
Oversee and direct work of lower classified personnel and assist in training and orientation of new Respiratory Therapist or students as requested.
Perform repetitive tasks in maintaining an assigned area in an orderly and sanitary condition.

Requires knowledge of anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pulmonary physics, pulmonary physiology, advanced respiratory care, mathematics, blood gas chemistry, and pharmacology at a level generally acquired through completion of a two-year AMA-approved program in Respiratory Therapy.
Must have passed certified (CRT) and be licensed by the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy.
Approximately six to twelve months of progressively more responsible related work experience necessary to gain a complete understanding of respiratory therapy principles and procedures.

Analytical ability necessary to review and evaluate various laboratory results, conduct respiratory assessments, and properly operate technical respiratory equipment.
Interpersonal skills necessary to explain therapy and goals to patients and family members and to communicate effectively with nursing personnel, physicians, and other hospital personnel.
