Respiratory Therapist (69457)

Provide specialty respiratory services for the assessment, treatment, and monitoring of residents with deficiencies or abnormalities of pulmonary function. Consult and audit respiratory therapy services at each facility, and deliver in-depth training and competencies.

Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, and monitor residents with pulmonary function deficiencies or abnormalities.
• Consult and audit respiratory therapy services at assigned facilities.
• Provide in-depth training and competency evaluations for respiratory therapy staff.
• Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Relate information concerning a resident’s condition to appropriate personnel.
• Demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and a supportive attitude toward colleagues and residents.

Requirements

• Current Respiratory Therapist license in accordance with state laws.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in respiratory services as a respiratory therapist.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies.
• Patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm for handling challenging situations.
• Ability to work harmoniously with other personnel and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
