Respiratory Technician - Limited Permit

About the role

The Respiratory Technician is responsible for administering diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures, evaluating their effectiveness, and communicating findings to healthcare professionals.

Key Duties

• Prepare patients for treatment
• Follow physician orders
• Administer treatments such as nebulization, mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, and aerosol therapies
• Observe patients during treatments, perform auscultation, monitor vital signs, and record data
• Assist with invasive procedures like suctioning and blood gas sampling
• Congduct patient assessments
• Develop and reevaluate care plans in collaboration with physicians
• Ensure equipment functionality through troubleshooting and quality checks

Qualifications & Skills

• High School or GED
• Enrollment in an accredited respiratory care program or Ohio license
• Ability to perform invasive and non-invasive respiratory procedures
• Evaluate patient needs
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team
