About the role
The Respiratory Student Equipment Technician supports patient care operations by cleaning, tracking, preparing, and delivering respiratory equipment across assigned clinical areas. This role operates under the supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Shift Lead (RTSL) and reports to the Respiratory Therapy Manager.
Responsibilities
- Clean, track, prepare, and deliver respiratory equipment to support patient care operations.
- Operate in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, infection prevention standards, and departmental procedures.
- Prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment and adhere to detailed instructions.
- Collaborate with respiratory therapy team members and communicate effectively.
- Ensure proper handling, transport, and storage of contaminated and/or clean equipment.
- Report safety concerns or equipment malfunctions immediately to the Shift Lead or RT Manager.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy program accredited by COARC or a recognized successor organization.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Degree or Equivalent.
- Work Experience: 3 years.
