About the role

The Respiratory Care Clinical Educator at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is a Licensed Respiratory Therapist responsible for influencing professional role competence and growth of learners across various settings.

Responsibilities

• Develops knowledge and competency in pediatric respiratory care and professional development practices.
• Evaluates personal practice against professional practice standards and guidelines, and relevant statutes, rules, and regulations.
• Implements strategies for seamless transitions to practice and between practice settings.
• Affirms clinical skills of staff and provides learning opportunities to enhance clinical competencies and decision-making skills.
• Uses the best available evidence to guide practice decisions.
• Facilitates professional role development.
• Assists in transformation processes at the unit/area level, utilizing project management and improvement processes.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree is required.
• A Master’s degree in area of specialization or in adult education is preferred.
• Current licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of Illinois.
• Active RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist) from the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Recognized certification in specialty area of clinical practice.
• Minimum three years of clinical experience in specialty area, preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification required from the American Heart Association.
• CPR instructor, within 6 months of hire.

• Knowledge of pediatric respiratory care and professional development practices.
• Ability to evaluate personal practice and implement strategies for seamless transitions.
• Skills in assessing clinical skills, providing learning opportunities, and using evidence-based practice.
• Ability to facilitate professional role development and assist in transformation processes.

Pay

$83,200.00 - $137,280.00

Full-time position.
