Respiratory Intern
About the role
A student currently enrolled in a recognized Respiratory Therapy program who will obtain and maintain a state license to work within the scope of their knowledge, with opportunity of advancing skills through application of their growing knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Performs all aspects of the scope of practice of a respiratory therapist and where applicable cardiopulmonary scope of practice.
- Includes diagnostic and metabolic testing, patient assessment, treatment, planning and therapeutic interventions, analysis and reporting of clinical response.
- Works in collaboration with the medical staff and other members of the health care team to support efficient, cost effective and quality patient and family care, as well as providing patient and family education and discharge planning.
- Supports system, facility and department growth through participation in performance improvement activities, continuing education and professional growth and development activities along with other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Applicable Experience: Less than 1 year
- Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross, Respiratory Student - Various
