Respiratory Care Practitioner RRT PRN

Job Summary

Achieve your potential as a Respiratory Care Practitioner RRT PRN at Methodist Hospital Metropolitan. You'll assess, treat, and care for patients with pulmonary disorders, administering various respiratory care modalities and providing emergency care.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program
• Experience: One year previous Respiratory Therapy experience preferred
• Licenses & Certifications: Current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner from the Texas Medical Board, RRT from NBRC, or grandfathered CRT before July 1, 2002
• Training: Completes initial and ongoing training as defined by service line, facility, and department/unit

Essential Job Functions

• Operate and set up respiratory care devices
• Provide emergency care including artificial ventilation, external cardiac massage, and assist with cardiopulmonary resuscitation
• Collect and analyze arterial blood gases
• Evaluate patient's response to therapy by monitoring vital signs, blood gases, breath sounds, pulse oximetry, and end-tidal CO2
• Consult with physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals for changes in patient status
