Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT)

About the role

This PRN position evaluates and provides respiratory therapy to patients, including assessing needs, developing care plans, administering treatments, monitoring progress, and educating patients and families about health conditions and community resources.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient respiratory needs and develop individualized care plans
• Administer prescribed respiratory treatments and therapies
• Monitor and document patient progress and response to therapy
• Educate patients and families on health conditions and community resources
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide critical care support
• Ensure patient safety and adherence to infection control protocols

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent experience
• Minimum of one year of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• Active state licensure in Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin

Physical requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and handling of respiratory equipment
• Occasional patient movement assistance and driving as required

• Attention to safety and infection control practices
• Proficiency in respiratory care modalities and emergency response

Schedule

Night shift (PRN/as-needed basis).

Pay

$70 per hour.
