About the role

The Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for the delivery of skilled respiratory care modalities and interventions to designated patient populations with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities. This position requires the use of advanced practitioner skills to intervene in complex patient care situations, including independent professional respiratory care, ventilator management, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and clinical evaluation of care. Responsibilities include establishing therapy and treatment objectives and reviewing care based on the age and needs of the patient. This position operates independently under limited supervision.

Internal contacts include patient care staff and management. External contacts include patients, families, physicians, outside health care providers, and other organizations.

Requirements

• Graduate of AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy Training program
• Registered (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) with the State of Washington
• Registry eligibility notice to sit for RRT exam from NBRC required
• Advanced cardiac life support credential required within 90 days of hire (ACLS, NRP, PALS, depending on population served)
• Health Care Provider level CPR certification
• Minimum one (1) year of acute care experience in respiratory therapy and critical care as CRT preferred

Consideration may be given to internal candidates not meeting the minimum education qualifications.

Pay

The pay scale is $40.83 - $67.48 USD per hour. Pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will reflect the appropriate step on the pay scale based on years of experience.
