Respiratory Care Practitioner Per Diem

About the role

Perform diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures appropriate to the ages of patients across the life cycle. Initiate and maintain mechanical ventilation and respond to emergent patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures tailored to patient growth and development stages.
• Initiate and maintain mechanical ventilation.
• Respond to emergent patient care situations.

Requirements

• Graduate of an AMA-approved one-year Program in Respiratory Therapy.
• Licensed by the State of New Jersey Board of Respiratory Care as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Demonstrated competency in all procedures within scope of practice, appropriate to the ages of patients served.
• Ability to obtain and interpret patient information in terms of their needs.
• Knowledge of growth and development and understanding of the range of treatment needed by patients.
• Demonstrated competency in the care and treatment of the following age groups: Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric.
• BLS Certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) obtained within 30 days of start date.
• Registered Respiratory Care Practitioners assigned to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit must obtain Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.

Pay

Salary Range: 45.00 USD per hour. We offer competitive base rates determined by job-related work experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data. Additional compensation may include clinical certification pay and shift differentials for eligible positions.
