About the role
Provide respiratory therapy to acutely ill patients across various hospital units, including med/surg, emergency, and critical care.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory treatments in accordance with protocols and patient needs.
- Monitor and document patient conditions, communicate effectively with the healthcare team, and respond to clinical emergencies.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory disease management and available resources.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, evaluate policies based on current research, and serve as a preceptor and role model for team members.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
- Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) with an active or pending Illinois license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; neonatal, pediatric, and adult advanced life support certifications preferred.
