About the role
HDR is seeking a Resources Geospatial Business Class Lead to lead geospatial services across the Resources Business Group (Power, Waste, Industrial).
This is a hybrid leadership role combining: Geospatial Business Class Leadership (:30%), Resources Cross Sector Technology Lead (:30%), Technical Project Execution / Project Leadership (:40%).
You will connect technical delivery, strategy, and innovation while working closely with leadership and technology teams.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, coordination, and advancement of geospatial technical services and technology integration within HDR’s Resources Business Group.
- Monitor the health and performance of the Resources Geospatial business class and support continued business group success.
- Shape the strategic plan for the next three to five years, and positioning HDR as a differentiator in the marketplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Geospatial Business Class Leadership:
- Lead and advance GIS capabilities across the business group.
- Support growth, technical excellence, and delivery integration.
- Align solutions with client and strategic goals.
- Serve as a senior technical and strategic leader.
- Support pursuits with geospatial-enabled solutions.
- Develop tools, workflows, and best practices.
- Support staff development, mentoring, and recruitment.
- Resources Cross Sector Technology Leadership:
- Optimize project execution including the advancement and implementation of technology related to digital delivery, data management, optimization, automation, and visualization.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies and technology innovations.
- Develop strategies for cross sectors (i.e. sustainability and resilience, right of way, environmental sciences and planning, strategic communications, management consulting) to foster technology talent collaboration and skills development.
- Coordinate and collaborate with Resources Cross Sector BCLs and Cross Sector Technology Director.

- A strong data fluency (and curiosity to keep learning).
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to all levels of the organization.
- Master’s degree.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in related field.
- Maintains a professional or Engineering registration and has related technical experience.
- Experienced in development and management of diverse teams.
- Works cooperatively with other business class directors, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts.
