About the role
Under the direction of the Resource Sharing Manager, supports Interlibrary Lending, Borrowing, and BorrowDirect services.
Responsibilities
- Processing requests
- Scanning materials
- Troubleshooting library systems
- Assisting patrons and partner institutions
- Maintaining documentation
- Training staff and students
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with library catalogs and business software
- Strong communication, customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to learn new technologies, manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently and collaboratively
Physical requirements
- Lifting up to 40 pounds
- Moving library materials
- Pushing book carts weighing up to 150 pounds
Schedule
Full-time (35 hrs/wk), Monday through Friday, 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. (actual schedule to be determined).
Union status
This is a union position covered by the collective bargaining agreement between the MIT Libraries and AFSCME Council 93.
