Our Emergency Department is a rural, 20-bed unit focused on delivering patient-centered care in a supportive and friendly environment. Work-life balance is important to us, and we proudly offer self-scheduling. This is a full-time, mid-shift, in-person position.

Responsibilities

• Assures optimum quality patient care by serving as a resource person for other staff members, patient and family.
• Continuing professional and personal development, coordinating patient care with other departments and assisting the physician.
• Advanced assessment skills.
• Intervenes with appropriate action after needs are identified.
• Assists with direct patient care until patient is transferred to appropriate level of care, or if hemodynamically stable.
• Facilitates transfer to a higher level of care when indicated.
• Provides support to staff, patient and patient's family.
• Attends all Sepsis alerts, STEMI alerts, Stroke alerts, Trauma activations, and Code Blues.
• Mentor to nursing staff.
• Assist with low-volume, high-risk procedures.
• Demonstrates professional and personal development.

Requirements

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. A bachelor's degree is preferred.

• Basic Life Support certification (current)
• ACLS and PALS required
• Trauma Nursing Core Curriculum (TNCC)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) — within 6 months of hire
• 3 years experience in a critical care setting (ICU or ED)
