Key Responsibilities
- Aid the resource center specialist in the daily operation of the media center.
- Support students and teachers in selecting materials.
- Conduct circulation tasks such as checking in/out of books and materials.
- Perform general clerical tasks and repairs of books and materials.
- Engage in other related duties to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
- Assist with other duties as assigned within the area of assignment.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of an Associate’s Degree or 60 college credit hours at the time of hire.
- Pass the ParaPro Test provided by the district free of charge.
- A High School diploma or equivalent is also acceptable.

- Computer proficiency including use of basic software applications (Word, Excel, etc).

- Effective communication (verbal and written) with students, teachers, parents, and district personnel.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Inside a school library or resource center, which may include classrooms or computer labs.
- Frequent contact with students, teachers, and other school staff.
- Generally quiet, but may be louder during student visits or group activities.
- Frequent movement around the library, walking and standing for extended periods.
- Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, and kneeling to shelve or retrieve books.
- May need to lift and carry boxes of books or supplies (typically up to 25–40 pounds).
