About the role
Eurofins Agroscience Services is searching for an Assistant Scientist, Residue to work in Columbia, MO. This is an entry level position – recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Located in the center of the US, this college town has a high quality of life with easy access to major cities such as St. Louis and Kansas City. Successful candidates would be part of a large diverse team collaborating to deliver high quality research to key markets.
Responsibilities
- Carries out somewhat complex routine experiments and procedures in accordance with all applicable regulatory (e.g. DEA, EPA, FDA, FIFRA, OECD, etc.) requirements as defined by protocol, method, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Analyzes organic and inorganic compounds to determine chemical and physical properties.
- Conducts title/skill appropriate procedures with minimal supervision using laboratory equipment, computer resources, and institutional libraries.
- Prepares standards and specifications for processes, facilities, products, and tests.
- Performs data analysis, first level, and peer review of data for accuracy and completeness. Prepares data and reports of completed projects ensuring auditable quality for publication at completion of contracted work by clients.
- Depending on area of assignment, may handle regulated materials (quarantined matrices, DEA-controlled and radiolabeled materials, etc.), potential biohazard materials, and toxic chemicals according to company procedures.
- Depending on area of assignment, may conduct research into composition, structure, properties, relationships, and reactions of matter.
- May assist or serve as study director, principal investigator, or project leader for GLP studies. May assist in planning the conduct of a study.
- Instrument experience a plus, in particular LC-MS/MS.
Qualifications
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field such as chemistry, biochemistry, biology, environmental studies, or other directly related field or degree with comparable coursework in the above areas.
- In rare cases, comparable demonstrated competence and experience in the relevant area may be used to substitute in whole or in part for the Bachelor's degree.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
Schedule
- Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with overtime and some weekend shifts required as needed
