About the role

We are hiring for a Residential Treatment Specialist - Nights position at RHA Health Services. This is a regular full-time role located at the Mary Benson House in Western North Carolina. The position involves overnight night coverage, 3 nights a week, 12 hour shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct care to residents as delegated by the house manager, program director, or supervisor.
  • Performs/assists residents with activities of daily living consistently and according to policy and standards.
  • Maintains the therapeutic environment, providing individual and group support as appropriate including meal preparation, childcare, transportation, and the general support of the residents.
  • Monitors the self administration of medication for residents.
  • Assists residents and children with nutritional needs.
  • Observes residents and effectively communicates significant changes or reactions to care to treatment team.
  • Consistently anticipates and meets residents' needs.
  • Consistently follows the plan of care designed to meet the emotional needs of the residents, including safety level checks as appropriate.
  • Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing, with residents, family, and co-workers.
  • Consistently demonstrates positive consumer relation behaviors and attitudes.
  • Affords assistance to other staff members as the need arises.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience in health care work at the level of health care assistant or an associate of arts in mental health; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Certification in CPR and first aid.
  • Experience in substance abuse and/or mental health fields.
  • Valid NC driver's license.
