Position Overview

Under the direction of the Network Director, the Residential Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of community residential sites, ensuring a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for individuals served.

About the Role

The Residential Supervisor provides comprehensive oversight for two or more 24-hour or intermittent community residential sites, including on-call responsibilities, at least two late-night shifts per week, and one weekend per month. They supervise up to two or more full-time Independent Living Coaches (ILCs) per site, reviewing ILC applications and conducting interviews; making recommendations for hiring, onboarding, promotion, termination, and evaluation. They assign and manage staff schedules and rotations, conduct quality onboarding and training, including OJTs and Quest, provide direct coaching, support, and leadership to ILC teams, instruct ILCs on effective implementation of individualized programs and activities, communicate updates, policies, and vital information through routine staff meetings, and maintain professional communication with families, staff, external agencies, and community partners.

Essential Functions

  • Provides comprehensive oversight for two or more 24-hour or intermittent community residential sites, including on-call responsibilities, at least two late-night shifts per week, and one weekend per month.
  • Supervises up to two or more full-time Independent Living Coaches (ILCs) per site, reviewing ILC applications and conducting interviews; making recommendations for hiring, onboarding, promotion, termination, and evaluation.
  • Assigns and manages staff schedules and rotations.
  • Conducts quality onboarding and training, including OJTs and Quest.
  • Provides direct coaching, support, and leadership to ILC teams.
  • Instructs ILCs on effective implementation of individualized programs and activities.
  • Communicates updates, policies, and vital information through routine staff meetings; submits minutes to the Network Director.
  • Maintains professional communication with families, staff, external agencies, and community partners.
  • Participates actively in leadership initiatives, task forces, and organizational committees.
  • Collaborates with team members to improve programs and suggest innovations.
  • Ensures a clean, safe home environment; completes safety checklists and initiates maintenance requests as needed.
  • Aids in developing the home's budget and recommends cost-saving techniques related to household purchases.
  • Conducts regular home and environmental inspections and initiates repairs.
  • Oversees and monitors electronic and paper documentation systems.
  • Supports individuals in achieving outcomes identified in person-centered plans.
  • Implements written strategies and behavior support plans.
  • Encourages and facilitates individual and group community engagement.
  • Promotes and strengthens natural support networks.
  • Communicates medical concerns to the Network Director and Nurse; ensures implementation of medical and dietary plans.
  • Oversees medication administration and compliance across all assigned homes.
  • Collaborates with day service and employment staff to promote individual growth.
  • Marks individual physical and emotional wellbeing and respects personal preferences.
  • Provides or arranges transportation for individuals to appointments, work, and recreational activities.
  • Ensures staff compliance with all required training (e.g., medication administration, CPR, First Aid, Safety Care).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift over 40 pounds from floor to waist unassisted.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to perform deep knee squats.
  • Ability to push wheelchairs weighing 200 pounds or more.
  • Must remain in a stationary position (standing/sitting) for extended periods.
  • Must be able to drive and operate motor vehicles.
  • Requires physical activity including balancing, stooping, crouching, crawling, kneeling, climbing stairs, reaching, grasping, and repetitive motions.
