Key Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing supervision, coaching, and support to residential staff across campus.
- Promote consistency, fairness, and clear expectations in all interactions with students and staff.
- Train and mentor staff in developing effective dormitory routines, activities, and strategies that support student growth, independence, and positive community living.
- Utilize proactive, positive reinforcement approaches to support student success and address behavioral challenges.
- Conduct regular staff supervision meetings and dormitory observations, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
- Collaborate closely with advisors, teachers, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams to support student goals and implement individualized plans.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and confidential communication and documentation.
- Serve as a role model by demonstrating professionalism, maturity, flexibility, sound judgment, and a student-centered approach.
- Support campus operations and assist other departments as needed.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience, preferably in residential, educational, human services, or related settings.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff while maintaining accountability and high standards.
- Commitment to an "in loco parentis" philosophy and student-centered approach.
- Proficiency with technology and common software platforms, including Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and student information systems.
- Ability to work flexibly in a dynamic residential school environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Legal authorization to work in the USA
- Suitable background check (CORI, SORI, DCF) and fingerprinting required
- CPR/AED/Standard First Aid certified or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to walk extended distances, climb stairs and navigate a large campus environment.
