Job Overview

The Outside Sales Representative will drive growth for J.R. & Co., Inc. by generating new business opportunities and nurturing ongoing revenue streams. This role involves lead generation, proposal management, client engagement, and collaboration with the team.

Essential Functions

  • Make initial contacts and establish relationships with decision-makers and targeted markets
  • Support prospecting and lead generation efforts
  • Develop strategic partnerships and maintain an active pipeline of opportunities
  • Engage clients to uncover and close growth opportunities
  • Create and present sales proposals tailored to the target audience
  • Collaborate with estimators and negotiate contract terms with clients
  • Track and report on proposal status
  • Respond to client inquiries
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop sales tools and strategies for entering target markets
  • Represent J.R. & Co., Inc. at networking functions
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of J.R. & Co., Inc. offerings and current market research
  • Maintain detailed client database and prospecting list
  • Record and update all business development activities and results on CRM

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Valid driver's license in accordance with state laws and company policies
  • Knowledgeable about OSHA safety standards and committed to following all safety protocols
  • Tech-savvy with experience using Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, The EDGE (preferred), and Pipedrive (preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) to connect with others
  • Adaptable, motivated, and ready to contribute to ongoing growth
  • Passionate about taking ownership of generating new business opportunities
  • Prior proven ability to build relationships quickly and collaborate seamlessly with internal teams
  • Self-driven and able to manage multiple priorities with ease
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills to tackle challenges head-on
  • Exceptional time management skills—able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines without missing a beat

Education and Experience

  • 1-3 years B2C or B2B sales experience preferred, but not required
  • Construction/contracting background preferred, but not required
  • Canvassing sales experience preferred
  • Prior storm restoration industry experience preferred
  • Knowledge of roofing systems, applications, and benefits preferred
  • Cold calling and acquisition experience preferred

Training, Support, and Development

  • Paid 4 weeks of training including roofing industry, construction education, and sales training
  • Marketing materials and CRM access
  • Full-time, equipped office and support staff at J.R. & Co., Inc. National Headquarters office, centrally located in Kansas City, MO
  • Ongoing, paid, professional development including new products, and sales training

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

  • Indoor office environment and outdoor door-to-door sales calling
  • Local travel to engage with clients
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends to meet client availability

Compensation Package

  • Weekly pay
