Responsibilities
- Convert internally generated mortgage leads into mortgage loans.
- Assess borrower needs and guide them through the loan process.
- Originating mortgage loans for Bank OZK’s employees.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with past customers and their network of professionals.
- Create rapport and trust with customers and referring partners.
- Counsel customers to identify mortgage loan needs and options.
- Aid in the processing and closing of loans in a professional manner.
- Accurately complete and deliver initial disclosures.
- Take complete, accurate, and compliant loan applications.
- Order credit reports and resolve discrepancies.
- Input loan information into computer systems.
- Utilize Automated Underwriting Systems for decisioning loans.
- Order appraisals.
- Cross-sell the customer on the use of other Bank products.
- Proactively communicate loan status and progress to the customer.
- Analyze property appraisals for Investor compliance.
- Travel on Bank business.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or commensurate work experience and two years of residential mortgage or banking experience, OR high school diploma and three years of residential mortgage or banking experience, required.
- NMLS, or successful completion of NMLS process within 30 days of hire, required.
- Experience working in Encompass, preferred.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of lending criteria/business needs, lending systems, and regulatory/investor lending guidelines.
- Knowledge of loan origination needs and milestones (origination, processing, underwriting, closing, products, vendor interfaces).
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work without close supervision.
- Ability to demonstrate effective critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with exacting deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and bank secrecy.
- Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills.
- Skill in using computer and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
