Residential HVAC Service Tech

About the role

J&R Herra in Geneva, IL is hiring a full-time Residential HVAC Service Tech to maintain customers' heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, repair, and replace heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
• Service equipment such as boilers, furnaces, ductless split systems, and humidifiers.
• Identify and troubleshoot problems, present multiple service options, and help customers choose the best solutions.
• Create detailed estimates, document services, and generate invoices.
• Carry out high-quality repair, replacement, and maintenance services like recharging refrigerants, testing for leaks, and checking system functionality.
• Provide education on maintaining equipment and avoiding future issues.
• Treat customers respectfully and clean work areas before moving to the next job.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a residential service and maintenance technician.
• Fundamental knowledge about residential heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to provide necessary tools.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Physical ability to climb ladders, lift heavy objects, and carry equipment.
• Ability to work in noisy environments and confined spaces like attics, basements, and crawl spaces.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential HVAC systems and excellent interpersonal skills. Physical stamina and the ability to work in various conditions are also crucial.
