Residential Housekeeper

About the role

New Day Recovery is looking for a hardworking and dedicated Housekeeper to provide the best possible experience for our guests and associates. This position is responsible for cleaning guest rooms and common areas in accordance with company guidelines and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bedrooms for new admissions: dress beds with clean sheets and comforter, vacuum carpets, clean all hard surfaces, and ensure each room has proper accommodations (alarm clock, sound machine, fan, hamper, etc.).
• Vacuum all hallway and common area carpets.
• Assist the kitchen with washing, drying, and putting away dishes.
• Tidy the dining area after meal times: wipe tables and chairs, push in chairs, sweep and mop floors, empty trash, etc.
• Keep the housekeeping cart organized and stocked.
• Deep clean all bathrooms: mop floors, clean countertops, wipe mirrors and fixtures, sanitize shower stalls, stock bathrooms with towels, and take out trash.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of day rooms: remove dishes or trash, fold and put away blankets, straighten pillows, sanitize hard surfaces, etc.
• Assist medical staff with laundry.
• Maintain professional boundaries with clients and interact with them appropriately.
• Assist medical or kitchen staff with any other related tasks.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass State of Louisiana criminal background and driving record checks.
• Prior cleaning/housekeeping experience a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and organization.
• Ability to follow and complete a task list on a daily basis.
• Basic knowledge of household cleaning products and their use.
• Good communication skills.
• Satisfactory drug screen.
