Residential Driver
About the role
WIN Waste Innovations is looking for a Residential Driver. The driver will operate heavy-duty trucks to collect residential household waste or recyclable material and transport it to a disposal, transfer, or recycling facility once the trucks reach legal load capacity. The role involves safely maneuvering vehicles in residential environments, including navigating high-traffic roads, driveways, alleyways, and lots.
Responsibilities
- Operate the vehicle in accordance with Life Critical Rules, OSHA, DOT requirements, and all local, state, and federal laws.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle and document checks using the standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report).
- Immediately report all unsafe situations or service-related issues to the Route Manager or Dispatch.
- Attend and participate in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as directed by the Route Manager.
- Work closely with the Route Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
- Notify the Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
- Notify the Route Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions, such as closed or impassable streets, receptacles too heavy to service, or potential safety hazards.
- Communicate customer requests to Dispatch or the Route Manager.
- Completely dump all receptacles and ensure the customer's location is clean and free of debris.
- Follow route assignments as directed and complete end-of-day documentation and check-out process.
- Perform all duties as scheduled by the Route Manager or Dispatch and assist other drivers as needed to meet customer needs.
- Maintain a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers, and management.
Qualifications
- Education: None required.
- Experience: 1 year of experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or equivalent military driving within the last 7 years.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, or Other Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Hold a current Class A or B Commercial Driver's License with an air-brake endorsement.
