Residential Direct Support Professional I - Bucks County

About the role

The Salvation Army, Developmental Disabilities Program seeks compassionate, positive, and engaging individuals to support individuals with intellectual or physical disabilities. The ideal candidate should have experience supporting these individuals and possess a positive, "can-do" attitude.

Responsibilities

• Help individuals with their daily routines
• Explore local community activities with program participants
• Be an advocate and mentor for individuals with developmental disabilities
• Communicate with kindness and respect when interacting with program participants, families, and staff
• Support program participants in exploring new interests and broadening their horizons
• Utilize Microsoft Office (Outlook & Word) and other technologies

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED
• A valid Driver’s License and ability to operate a standard sized van
• The ability to obtain all necessary background clearances
• An appreciation for The Salvation Army's mission of service
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or physical disabilities
• Positive, problem-solving attitude
• Ability to communicate kindly and respectfully
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook & Word)
• Comfortable using computers and other technologies
