About the role
Respite Respite means to take a break. Clients often need a way to take some space from the stressors in their lives and we are here to provide that. Throughout the day you are spending your time engaging with clients, observing safe medication practices, working on daily independent living skills, assessing for risk and crisis situations and providing case management supports as needed. Clients may utilize Respite as a step down from a hospital or proactively to prevent a hospital stay. The program is staffed 24/7 and you will develop strong relationships with other CHR programs, primary health and pharmacies to best support those in our care. Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintains physical environment and program standards to CHR, DMHAS, JCAHO and any other licensing standard
- Makes sure medications of all residents are observed according to the Adult residential medication policy and procedure
- Uses appropriate communication methods/tools to share information with other staff about the day's events
- Teaches and assists all residents in areas such as nutrition and healthy living, meal preparation, hygiene, laundry, banking and budgeting, and basic home care skills
- Assists/Manages administrative functions and tasks as directed by the supervisor
- Facilitates educational and skill building groups and one to one interventions as directed by the treatment plan
- Collaborates and coordinates care with providers and families as needed
- Supports residents in addressing medical and psychiatric needs
- Maintains documentation in compliance with agency and program standards
- Attends staff meetings, supervision, trainings and other meetings as assigned
- Additional duties as required
Qualifications
- Education: High diploma or GED required
- Experience: Two years’ experience working with a relevant population preferred
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid driver’s license required with good driving record
Pay
$19.00/hr
