About the role
The Direct Care Counselor at NFI North is responsible for overseeing and organizing shifts, providing care management, supervising, assisting in skill development, and offering nurturing support and direct care to residents.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- An associate’s degree in human services or a related field (preferred)
- Equivalent experience is also acceptable
- Ability to recognize each client's uniqueness, needs, and desires
- Flexibility and ability to multitask
- Willingness to learn about clinical issues of individuals with mental illness and cognitive deficits
- Understanding of medical conditions accompanying individuals during the aging process
Qualifications
- Human services or related field education
- Experience working with older adults and those with mental health issues
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with individuals who may have cognitive deficits and multiple medical conditions
