Residential Counselor: Mills House-Part Time-7057

About the role

Mills House is a community-based group home that provides 24-hour staffing and a built-in therapeutic component for 5 boys aged 14-21 who have experienced serious emotional and behavioral problems. The program emphasizes helping the boys develop skills for living successfully outside of an institutional setting through participation in normative community activities.

Responsibilities

• Maintains physical environment and program standards set by funders, accreditors, and agency policies.
• Monitor self-administration of client medications in accordance with the agency medication policies and procedures as required by the program.
• Effectively utilizes appropriate communication methods/tools to effectively collaborate with coworkers and clients.
• Teaches and assists all residents in areas of developmentally appropriate activities of daily living.
• Affords administrative functions and tasks at the direction of the supervisor.
• Prepares and facilitates educational and skill-building groups and one-to-one interventions as directed by the treatment plan.
• Collaborates and coordinates care with providers and families as needed.
• Aids residents in addressing medical and psychiatric needs.
• Maintains documentation in compliance with agency and program standards.
• Participates in staff meetings, supervision, trainings, and other meetings as assigned.
• Additional duties as required.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience: Two years’ experience working with a relevant population preferred.
• Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid driver’s license required with a good driving record.

Pay

Starting at $19.00/hr minimum, and up commensurate upon experience. Actual rates are determined at the time of offer and are based on relevant experience, as well as adherence to our internal equity policy. Many of our positions offer program/location differentials and/or sign-on incentives. (For part-time positions, this range would be pro-rated based on hours worked)

Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 7am to 3pm
