Residential Care Technician

Per Diem position with an hourly wage range of $21.00 - $27.00.

About the Role

This position operates in a primarily indoor environment with occasional outdoor work in residential or outpatient treatment settings. You may be exposed to individuals experiencing emotional distress or behavioral challenges and will work in close proximity to staff and clients. The noise level is typically moderate.

Responsibilities

• Interact with clients, staff, regulators, and community partners.
• Read and interpret simple instructions and diagrams.
• Resolve problems using creative and effective solutions.
• Manage sensitive and confidential situations with professionalism and tact.
• Organize tasks with strong attention to detail.
• Travel moderately for outings, pharmacies, facility visits, external trainings, or meetings.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certified in CPR/First Aid (within 30 days of hire).
• Med-tech or CNA Certification (within 30 days of hire).
• Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Must pass fingerprinting, criminal background check, and any additional clearances required by DHCS, DSS, or funding/regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Suite or related software.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 25 pounds regularly (occasionally up to 40 pounds).
• Adequate visual acuity and hearing for effective communication in a treatment environment.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the day.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
• Two or more years of experience in healthcare or mental health.
