Responsibilities
- Engages in a trauma informed model of programming to provide physical and emotional safety for residents.
- Supervises residents in various activities in order to observe and promote positive social behavior and effect changes in their social behavior.
- Models and teaches life skills to clients that will help them develop interpersonal relationships and social skills.
- Communication and computer documentation of resident activities and behaviors.
- Administration of psychotropic medication and/or other prescribed medications.
- Monitor completion of daily hygiene routines/chores.
- Provide crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed.
- Provide transportation and accompaniment to outside appointments (medical, dental, etc.).
- Other daily duties including meal preparation, laundry, and light housekeeping.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with children who have experienced trauma.
- Knowledge of child development and behavior management.
- Valid Texas Drivers License.
