About the role
We are looking for a Residential Care Associate I to join our team at our Fairview Firs Residential Treatment Home (RTH) in Fairview, Oregon. The Residential Care Associate I will provide caring companionship and assistance with daily tasks to clients, supporting individuals to develop appropriate daily living skills and independent activities of daily living to increase or maintain their level of functioning.
- Provide personal care services and support for daily living activities.
- Assist with meal preparation, clean-up, and food purchasing while encouraging client participation.
- Pass medications and perform delegated medical care as prescribed by the client’s primary care provider, under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.
- Transport clients to and from the program as necessary to engage and provide treatment services.
- Maintain compliance with established productivity standards for documentation of services.
This position falls under the AFSCME bargaining unit. Wages, benefits, and working conditions are set in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and assistance with daily tasks to clients.
- Support clients in developing daily living skills and independent activities of daily living (ADLs and IADLs).
- Assist with meal preparation, clean-up, and food purchasing.
- Administer medications and perform delegated medical care under RN supervision.
- Transport clients to and from treatment services as needed.
- Complete required documentation in compliance with productivity standards.
- Successfully complete crisis de-escalation and CPR trainings, including physical maneuvers and techniques.
Requirements
- Caregiving and/or mental health experience (personal or professional) is preferred.
- Dedication to the wellbeing of each resident and helping them complete their activities of daily living (ADLs) and independent activities of daily living (IADLs).
- Valid driver’s license from your state of residence (or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire) and a safe driving record.
- Ability to pass a DHS criminal background check.
- Must be 18 or older at the time of hire (per OAR 309-035-0135).
Physical Demands
- Frequently talk, listen, use hands and fingers, reach, stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, and climb stairs.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds.
- Occasionally use ladders, squat/kneel, and perform other physical tasks as applicable.
- Perform crisis de-escalation and CPR techniques, including lifting and transferring clients.

Fairview Firs is a co-ed, 5-bed residential program serving adults living with a mental illness. The program includes:
- An ADA-accessible unit.
- Private bedrooms for each resident.
- Community areas, kitchen/dining room, and enclosed outdoor spaces.

Pay
$21.42 - $22.07 per hour, based on experience and credentials.
Additional pay differentials (subject to position, program, and eligibility requirements):
- Night Shift (NOC) Differential: An additional $3.00 per hour for hours worked between 10:00 PM and 8:30 AM (minimum 2.5 hours of shift within this period).
- Secure Program Differential: An additional $2.00 per hour for all hours worked in an eligible CCS secure program.
- Bilingual Differential: An additional 5% pay differential for employees who meet the qualifications of the CCS Language/Bilingual Program.
Schedule
Full-Time, Swing Shift: Sunday through Thursday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM.
