About the Role
The Residential Care Associate I will provide caring companionship and assistance with daily tasks to clients at our Alder Creek Residential Treatment Facility in Milwaukie, Oregon. This role supports individuals in developing appropriate daily living skills and independent activities of daily living to increase or maintain their level of functioning.
- Assist with meal preparation, clean-up, and food purchasing while encouraging client participation.
- Provide personal care services under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, including passing medications and performing delegated medical care as prescribed by the client’s primary care provider.
- Transport clients to and from the program as necessary to engage and provide treatment services.
- Maintain compliance with established productivity standards for documentation of services.
Alder Creek is a co-ed, 6-bed licensed Residential Treatment Facility serving adults living with a mental illness. Each resident enjoys their own room and access to two spacious common living areas. The program is located near public services but offers a private, rural feel with outdoor spaces for enjoyment.
Requirements
- Caregiving and/or mental health experience (personal or professional) is preferred.
- Dedication to the wellbeing of each resident and helping them complete their activities of daily living (ADLs) and independent activities of daily living (IADLs).
- Driving is an essential function of this position. Applicants must provide a valid driver's license from their state of residence or obtain and submit one within 30 days of hire, maintain a safe driving record, and pass a DHS criminal background check.
- Must be 18 or older at the time of hire (per OAR 309-035-0135).
Physical Demands
This position requires the ability to:
- Frequently talk, listen, use hands and fingers, reach, stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, and climb stairs.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds.
- Occasionally use ladders, squat/kneel, and perform other physical tasks as applicable.
- Successfully complete crisis de-escalation and CPR trainings, which require performing various physical, hands-on maneuvers and techniques, including lifting and transferring clients.
Schedule
Full-time, swing shift: Tuesday through Saturday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM.
Pay
$21.42 - $22.07 per hour, based on experience and credentials.
Additional pay differentials (subject to position, program, and eligibility requirements):
- Night Shift (NOC) Differential: An additional $3.00 per hour for hours worked between 10:00 PM and 8:30 AM, provided at least 2.5 hours of the shift occur within this period.
- Secure Program Differential: An additional $2.00 per hour for all hours worked in an eligible CCS secure program.
- Bilingual Differential: An additional 5% pay differential for employees who meet the qualifications of the CCS Language/Bilingual Program.
