About the role
Catholic Charities Family and Community Services (CCFCS) has been serving our community for over 100 years. We walk with people when they are at their most vulnerable as they journey toward independence to reach their full human potential, advocate for those in need throughout all stages of life; and work in partnership with faith communities of all denominations and those who are committed to addressing local needs.
Responsibilities
- Maintains confidentiality and ethical standards as identified by the NYS OASAS and other relevant governing bodies.
- Effectively supports ongoing and collaborative communication amongst all program staff, adhering to established agency communication protocols and is responsible for ensuring a trauma informed care environment.
- Makes sure the residents have a safe and therapeutic environment by monitoring them and observing peer-led activities.
- Provides transportation when needed, conducts room and personal belonging searches, conducts urine toxicology screens, provides conflict management, supervises meal preparation, debriefs incoming employees, conducts fire drills, and completes documentation.
- Completes L2 certification and maintains cleanliness of the facility, including assigning chores and conducting visible rounds.
- Notifies the Residence Manager of any emergency situations and carries out emergency procedures.
- Completes incident reports and documents any unusual incidents or situations.
Requirements
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required.
- A relevant combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Valid and clean NYS Driver’s License.
- Two years of experience in the human services field, crisis intervention, residential setting, or emergency services.
- Experience with conflict resolution techniques preferred.
- Knowledge of homeless client issues preferred.
