RESIDENTIAL ASSOCIATE

About the Role

Under general supervision, provides a safe, therapeutic environment for the residents through medication management, recreation and facility management in addition to other residential activities for clients. Maintains confidentiality and ethical standards as identified by the NYS OASAS and other relevant governing bodies. Effectively supports ongoing and collaborative communication amongst all program staff and is responsible for ensuring a trauma‑informed care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitors residents to assure a safe therapeutic environment and makes hourly visual contact, documenting observations.
• Supports residents’ efforts in maintaining their comprehensive plan for admission, ongoing treatment and discharge or transfers.
• Implements recreational activities as created by the vocational specialist or residential team.
• Provides non‑clinical psychoeducational groups as needed and observes peer‑led activities.
• Provides transportation when needed and conducts room and personal‑belonging searches to ensure safety.
• Conducts urine toxicology screens as scheduled or randomly while practicing universal precautions.
• Provides conflict management to residents as needed.
• Supervises preparation of meals by clients to assure sanitation, safety and nutritional standards.
• Maintains cleanliness of the facility, assigns chores, follows up to ensure satisfactory completion.
• Debriefs incoming employees during shift exchange and conducts visible rounds to ensure all residents are accounted for at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Carries out emergency procedures, notifies the Residence Manager of emergencies, conducts monthly fire drills and engages the security system.
• Provides medication observation and monitoring utilizing established protocols in the absence of LPN coverage.
• Completes and maintains all required documentation in compliance with agency and regulatory standards, including shift notes, group notes, and incident reports in the electronic client record database.
• Participates in agency meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.
• Supports the Agency’s Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan, including core competency initiatives such as collaboration, innovation, cultural competence and diversity.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
• Valid and clean NYS driver’s license.
• Experience working with substance‑use‑disorder clients and/or mental health services (preferred).
• Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Requirements

• Physical demands include frequent sitting, talking, hearing, standing, walking, light lifting, and use of hands to type.
• Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
• Work environment is usually quiet.
• Compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, confidentiality, privacy, billing and documentation standards, and CCFCS corporate compliance & ethics program.
• Successful completion of a background check is required.
• Required to complete L2 certification.

Pay

Hourly rate $19.25–$19.75 DOE, with a $0.75 increase upon medical certification.

Schedule

Limited part‑time schedule: Saturday – Sunday, 8 am – 4 pm.
