Primary Job Responsibilities
- Work as a member of a team to maintain a clean, safe, positive living environment for each individual who lives at the residence including completing laundry and cleaning assignments
- Assist in the development and implementation of each individual’s residential ISP/IEP and daily activity schedule
- Attend and support individuals participating in all community experiences
- Implement positive behavior supports and individual behavior support plans for individuals who live in the home
- Provide supervision of all individuals while under his/her care
- Administer and record individuals’ medications, in compliance with MAP
- Provide direct supervision and care to individuals, including 1:1 responsibilities at all times and locations
- Participate in any meetings pertaining to assigned individuals or program planning, as directed
- Engage in de-escalation of individuals
Essential Job Functions
- Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the job including inclement weather
- Demonstrated evidence of mature judgment, good interpersonal skills, a desire to enrich individuals' lives and a willingness to learn
- Physical and mental capacity to work in stressful situations and de-escalate individuals who have limited cognition and complex needs
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is an essential function of the job
- Must be able to implement crisis intervention techniques as necessary, including Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (via certification through CPI)
Requirements
- A minimum of an Associate’s Degree is preferred; prior experience in lieu of a degree will be considered
- Must meet Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background requirements
- MUST HAVE MAP (Medication Administration Program) certification or the ability to obtain MAP certification within the first 90 days of employment
