About the role
The Resident Project Representative P/T is responsible for performing daily on-site observations of construction work for the City to ensure compliance with contracts, plans, and specifications. This includes monitoring contractor progress, documenting observations, and reporting on compliance issues.
Responsibilities
- Acts as liaison between the contractor and Project Manager.
- Makes sure the contractor follows all relevant codes, standards, and ordinances.
- Prepares detailed inspection reports and maintains records.
- Assists in preparing and processing Pay Applications and Change Orders.
- Conducts oral and written project evaluations and recommends solutions.
- Investigates complaints and assists in resolving them.
- Supports the Project Manager with various tasks.
- Maintains project files and daily reports.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Considerable work experience in field construction observation.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift, move materials, and operate a City issued motor vehicle.
- Physical ability to perform tasks in various environments including standard office settings, warehouses, and construction sites.
- Sensory abilities to perceive and differentiate visual cues, communicate effectively, and adapt to frequent changes in workload.
Supplemental Information
- Paid Time Off (PTO): Eligible for 2-8 hours per quarter, earned bi-weekly, and used in 4-hour increments.
- Holiday Pay: 4 hours per official City-observed holiday, paid for actual hours worked plus holiday pay.
