Resident Medication Assistant -PRN

Responsible for

• Assist the resident with mediation.
• Verify with the resident, the resident can recognize the name, date and medication they are to take.
• Verify the resident has taken the medication.
• Provide care to residents including activities of daily living as needed.
• Notify the manager/supervisor any change in condition (i.e. discrepancy in the order, MAR or medication pack, resident’s inability to recognize medications, areas of redness, skin tears, bruising, mental status changes, eating habits).
• Compare the resident’s physician’s order and the MAR.
• Verify the order matches the MAR.
• Verify the order, MAR, and the medication pack match.
• Document appropriately on the MAR/EMAR.
• Assist with lifting, moving, and transporting residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, etc., as necessary, utilizing proper facility technique.
• Check residents routinely to ensure that their personal care needs are being met.
• Assist in preparing and serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis.
• Keep resident rooms and resident care areas clean and neat.
• Perform day-to-day housekeeping activities in accordance with daily work assignments.
• Orient new residents to facility.
• Encourage and assist residents to participate in activities.
• Assist in conducting activities with residents as directed.
• Assume additional responsibilities as assigned or needed.

Education

• A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience

• Experience in resident/patient care preferred.
