Resident Inspector - UT Level II - Upstate NY
About the role
The Resident Inspector will serve as a UT Program Lead for direct on-site support at a customer facility in Upstate, New York.
Responsibilities
- Daily scheduling of UT testing
- Maintenance of data entry into Mechanical Integrity database (PSAim) to ensure quality of data
- Verification of low-remaining life data report in PSAim and data in the field
- Coordination with offsite specialist resources, including RT crews, for thickness data integration
- Updating of UT maps to ensure thorough and accurate inspection of assets
- Collation of UT schedule requirements and coordination of UT testing with technicians
- Self-perform thickness testing as needed to support the testing strategy
- Maintaining organization and documentation of UT testing points on piping, tanks, and vessels
- Updating piping isometrics to reflect current TML’s
- Training others (Owner and Contractor employees) to support NDT work
- Making suggestions for updates to site NDT procedures to improve the program
- UTSW weld inspection for new piping fabrication
Requirements
Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), specifically Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
Must hold a valid NDT Level II certification in UT.
Must be able to perform work at heights and on mobile platforms.
Must have strong organizational and documentation skills.
Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid NDT Level II certification in UT.
Experience with API 570 standards.
Experience with UT testing on piping, tanks, and vessels.
Experience with UT map maintenance and creation of additional inspection points.
Experience with piping isometric updates and TML (Thickness Measurement Limit) number conversions.
Experience with training others on NDT procedures.
Skills
Strong knowledge of NDT techniques, particularly UT.
Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to perform work at heights and on mobile platforms.
