Resident Engineer - Wastewater
About the role
Fehr Graham is a Midwest engineering environmental firm seeking a Resident Engineer with a proven track record in construction engineering or construction oversight. The ideal candidate will have at least 5+ years of experience and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field, with direct experience in wastewater treatment plant design or construction.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary on-site representative for Fehr Graham during construction of water and wastewater treatment facilities
- Oversee daily construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, permits, and contract documents
- Cook up coordination with contractors, inspectors, project managers, and municipal stakeholders
- Review contractor submittals, RFIs, pay applications, change orders, and field documentation
- Maintain accurate project records, field reports, and correspondence
- Communicate project updates to client stakeholders on a weekly basis
- Support project closeout activities, including punch lists and final documentation
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, contract administration, and municipal infrastructure standards
- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work full-time on-site
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in construction engineering, or construction oversight
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management or a related field preferred
- Direct experience with wastewater treatment plant design or construction strongly preferred

Pay
The base salary (or hourly rate) range for this role is $42.00 - $55.00 / hour. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location.

This role requires full-time on-site work.
