Resident Engineer (Tunnel Engineering)

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development, execution, supervision, and coordination of all technical aspects, office and field engineering assignments including review of plans, schedules, contracts, procedures, and construction methods.
• Represent the Construction Management team during Daily Construction Meetings with the Contractor.
• Support Senior CM Staff with technical input.
• Manage oversight review of the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) design, fabrication, and operation during tunneling.
• Manage oversight review of detail design, fabrication, delivery, and installation of precast concrete tunnel lining segments.
• Cookordinate with the project team to ensure timely completion of tunneling works according to project specifications.
• Monitor tunneling progress, ground conditions, and excavation parameters.
• Review geotechnical and structural monitoring data.
• Implement safety protocols and quality control measures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Prepare progress reports, documentation, and reports on TBM operations.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions to challenges encountered during tunneling operations.
• Cookordinate with the Outreach Team and Third Party Stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Proven experience working with Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs).
• Tunneling experience, specifically in pressurized face TBM mining, precast concrete segmental lining, and cross passage construction.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Understanding of safety standards, regulations, and best practices in tunneling operations.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to navigate construction sites, including climbing stairs or accessing unfinished spaces, when required for estimate development.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30lbs.
• Able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, vests, and steel-toed boots, for prolonged periods.

Pay & Benefits

Enovate offers competitive compensation and benefits. The salary range for this position is $125,000 - 160,000 per year.
