Resident Engineer-NYC

Responsibilities

• Supervise inspection staff and Assistant Resident Engineer to complete assignments and delivery of daily inspector reports in accordance with client’s requirements
• Act as liaison to design staff to respond to Contractors’ RFI's and review of shop drawings
• Provides daily on-site construction management and site inspections
• Provides technical review of construction plans, specifications, and project changes for constructability and practicality
• Manage office staff responsible for record-keeping general correspondence, compiling and drafting of required reports and deliverables
• Responsible for overall site safety, permit condition compliance, and coordination with other City Agencies
• Maintains oversight of Contractor performance, schedule, overall responsiveness, and effectiveness
• Assists the Construction Manager in preparing proposals to provide professional services

Qualifications

• At least 5+ years of experience as a Resident Engineer on water/wastewater projects
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or a closely related field
• NY Professional Engineer (PE) License required
• NYCDEP experience is a plus
• Construction Management Association of America Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required
• Reliable transportation is required
