About the role

The role involves assessing and managing paediatric and neonatal patients, conducting procedures as required, and providing emergency care. Opportunities for additional shifts are available through the bank.

Responsibilities

  • Assessing and managing paediatric and neonatal patients, including post-operative paediatric patients, under consultant guidance.
  • Recognising and responding to deteriorating patients, escalating to the named consultant and PICU team as necessary.
  • Providing emergency care and participating in paediatric and/or neonatal resuscitation.
  • Undertaking procedures appropriate to competency, including venepuncture, cannulation, lumbar puncture, and catheterization.
  • For neonatal RDs, attending deliveries and emergency caesarean sections, reviewing babies on labour ward/postnatal ward, and supporting neonatal resuscitation.

Requirements

  • GMC Registration and License to Practice in the UK.
  • Completion of Foundation Training and ideally 4 years further experience in Paediatrics or Specialist Training.
  • Relevant Medical qualifications or Post Grads.
  • A passion for team-work, patient-focused care, and the ability to build and share best practices.
  • A desire to develop within the role.

Qualifications

  • Mandatory: GMC Registration and License to Practice in the UK.
  • Foundation Training and ideally 4 years further experience in Paediatrics or Specialist Training.
  • Relevant Medical qualifications or Post Grads.

Skills

  • Ability to assess and manage paediatric and neonatal patients.
  • Knowledge of emergency care and resuscitation protocols.
  • Competency in performing procedures as required.
  • Strong teamwork and patient-focused care skills.

Pay

An offering of a highly competitive salary.

Schedule

Part time: 24 hours per week, with shifts beginning at 07:45am and ending at 20:15pm or beginning at 19:45pm and ending at 08:15am. Permanent: Opportunities for additional shifts through the bank.
